From a time when the Des Moines music scene was suffering, Slipknot had escaped the state a few years prior and what was left over had virtually self destructed. September had formed in a junky old house on a small town country road, surrounded by cornfields, with plastic sheeting on the walls that helped hold the heat in, and where collapse of the upstairs on to the downstairs was a legitimate concern. This rare and virtually unheard first cycle of September produced a concept album. Fresh from an expired band called "Pariah," Tom resumed his role of guitar, Kyle put the guitars away and took his chances at beating things with sticks (due to the death of the Pariah drummer) and Lucas who had been in musical limbo for a few years taking a crack at that thing we call "real life" stepped back up to the now "light-up microphone."
Raw, brittle, grainy, and not very well produced, we felt like the hardcore September fans may like to hear where we started, even if they just take a quick listen at low volumes.
