This version of Trigger Shy was created using the original guitar and vocal tracks, some of which were picked up off the digital cutting room floor, as well as the original synth tracks. The original Trigger Shy as released on the album, was recorded in a time of chaos for the band. To say drummer we had at the time simply recorded sloppy tracks would be giving the guy a compliment. Though I could have edited the tracks to perfection, the time just wasn’t there due to a learning curve with some new studio gear and an already unreasonable deadline. The bass was also rerecorded for this 2013 version. As the producer of the band, I was unable to listen to the album version of Trigger Shy in its entirety. I finally did in August of 2013 and I’ll never make that mistake again! We are our own worst critics I know, and the album version got great professional reviews and seems to be a fan favorite, but to me as not only a musician in the band, but the engineer and producer as well, this is how Trigger Shy should have sounded, from the beginning.
